Verbos auxiliares be, do can, have
Verbos auxiliares
(be, do, have, can)
DO
Are you sure you locked the door? (Tem certeza que trancou a
porta?)
Yes, I do. (Sim, tenho.) >
(= Yes, I’m sure I locked the door.)
Do you like to cook? (Você gosta de cozinhar?)
No, I don’t.
(não, eu não gosto.) (ao invés de
escrever I do not like to cook).
Does Nina speak Portuguese? (Nina fala português?)
No, she doesn’t (e não she ”speakn’t”). She speaks
Spanish. (Não, não fala. Ela fala
espanhol.)
Are those people Korean? (aquelas pessoas são coreanas?)
I don’t think so
e não i “think’t”
Ex: I need to do my homework (Preciso fazer meu dever de
casa).
There’s a lot of work to do (Tem muito trabalho a se fazer).
HAVE
Have you locked the door? (Você trancou a porta?)
Yes, I have.
perfect que seria: pronome + have + verbo principal no particípio.
Ex: I have lost
my keys. (Eu perdi minhas chaves).
CAN
Can she come to the party? (Ela pode vir para a festa?)
No, she can’t ou she cannot come. (Não, ela não pode vir).
Nota: o verbo can NUNCA terá o “s” no final na 3ª pessoa do
singular. Os demais tem.
BE
Are these people Japanese? (Essas pessoas são japonesas?)
Yes, they are. (Sim, são).
Complete com os verbos auxiliares be, can, do, ou have. Use
a forma negativa se necessário:

Uma aula de ginástica / a gym class - Get in shape/ entre me forma!
For those who take gym classes (or gymnasium) and want to learn how to get in shape 'in English', here's this cute song.
You know Chuck, I may not be as cute as that
little red haired girl, and I may not have naturally curly hair like Freida,
and I may not be as smart as Lucy, but I've got one thing none of them have.
I'm in shape!
I run 5 miles every morning
I do a hundred push ups every day
I pedal every night, take a swim, take a hike
I'm in shape, I'm in shape, I'm in shape
She's practicing Peppermint Patty's P.E. Program
She's in shape, she's in shape, she's in shape
When other kids are fading at the finish
When all the others fail to break the tape
I saunter 'round the track and wave to daddy
I'm in shape, I'm in shape, I'm in shape
She's practicing Peppermint Patty's P.E. Program
She's in shape, she's in shape, she's in shape
Hey Snoopy, get in shape
Pretty soon it'll be too late
Hey Snoopy! (Hey Snoopy!)
Hey Snoopy! (Hey Snoopy!)
Hey Chuck, you know how
Get in shape and do it now
Hey Chuck! (Hey Chuck!)
Hey Chuck! (Hey Chuck!)
Everybody get fit, stop thinking about it, this is it
Lucy, Linus, Schroeder, Sally, everybody work!
(sighs)
So if you wanna follow my example
You're gonna have to work, there's no escape
You gotta get with Peppermint Patty's P.E. Program
Get in shape, get in shape, get in shape
She's practicing Peppermint Patty's P.E. Program
She's in shape
I'm in shape
She's in shape

The days of the week are seven. They are: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday (Domingo, Segunda, Terça, Quarta, Quinta, Sexta e Sábado).
Pronúncia de cada um:
Sunday= "Sandei"
Monday= "Mondei"
Tuesday= "Tchusdei"
Wednesday= "Wenesdei" (o 'd' praticamente some)
Friday= "Fraidei"
Saturday= "Saetchiurdei" ou "Sétchiurdei"
All days of the week are started with capital letter.
A preposição usada para dizer/the preposition used to say 'na segunda, no sábado', etc é/is ON. Então ficará sempre/it will always be: on Mondays, on Saturdays... você NUNCA vai dizer/you'll NEVER say 'at Monday, at Friday'.
Forma abreviada/short form: Sun,Mon,Tue,Wed,Thu,Fri and Sat.
On Mondays I use to attend to a pre-university examination course and give English classes/lessons;
On Tuesdays and Thursdays I take French classes/lessons;
On Wednesdays I stay at home;
On Fridays and Saturdays I go out with my friends;
On Sundays I take a rest, because Iam busy the whole week!!
And what about you? What do you do during the week? Tell me about your activities in all these days, one by one! And I dare you to translate what I told about myself above.
Os meses do ano (the months of the year)
There are 12 (twelve) months in the year. Tthey are: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November and December.
Short form: Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov and Dec.
Pronounciation
January= "Janwari"
February= "Febrwari"
March= "Marsh/March"
April= Eipril"
May= "Mei"
June= "Djun" ( 'n' mudo , 'e' some)
July= "Djulai"
August= "Ougust"
September= "Sptembãr"
October= "Octobãr"
November= "Novembãr"
December= "Dicembãr"
All of them in capital letter (letra maiúscula), followed by preposition "IN".
Ex: In December mornings= in the mornings of December
To say/speak about a specific date we say the day using ordinal numbers: on/the April 2nd, May 1st, June 12th....
Good practice!!!
In case of any doubts contact me (em caso de dúvidas, entrem me contato).
Here's a good song to practise by listening the days of the week's names.
